Dr. Raju Sivasamy


Dr. Raju Sivasamy completed his MBBS from Chengalpattu Medical College and did his specialization in MD Anesthesiology from Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute. He has also completed his PDCC – Cardiac Anaesthesia at Apollo Main Hospital, Chennai. He has close to 2 decades of Healthcare Experience which is aiding him in his new avatar as a Healthcare Administrator.

During his post-graduation at SRMC and RI, He had the opportunity to work in every specialty including critical care and cath lab. He did his thesis in Epidural Analgesia for labour for 100 cases with Pethidine and bupivacaine. After post-graduation, He worked in Sri Visweswara Medical College Hospital, PRM Urological Center and John Medical Center for 3 years as consultant Anesthesiologist and performed orthopaedic, general surgery, gynaecology, urology, Neurosurgery, ENT, ophthalmic procedures and also Epidural Analgesia for labour. Later, he joined Apollo Hospital, Chennai in July 2002 as Senior Registrar in Cardiac Anesthesiology.

He grew rapidly from thereon to become a Consultant Anesthesiology by 2006 and has given anesthesia individually for various procedures in Cardiothoracic surgery like off-pump CABG, on-pump CABG, valve replacement, Aortic aneurysm repair and congenital cardiac conditions like ASD, VSD, TOF, PDA. He has floated more than 4500 pulmonary artery catheter in his training programme. He also performs trans-esophageal echocardiogram. He has also given anesthesia for 25 cases in Robotic surgery for Gynecological procedures. He has a rich experience as a teaching faculty for DNB Anesthesia post graduates, OT technician and nursing students.

He has attended numerous conferences, workshops, presented in Seminars and also done numerous paper presentations. He actively participates in organizing community medical camps. He is currently designated as Vice President Medical Services and plays a vital role in Management of Hospital by spearheading the Finance, IT, Materials and also supporting Medical Services Activities. He still actively does Clinical work balancing it with Healthcare Management.
