Institute-based Approach

At SIMS Hospital, we have designed our healthcare delivery model to maximize clinical outcome. Our institute-based approach is one such innovation that facilitates comprehensive speciality-centric care to the patients, moving away from “jack of all trades, master of none” approach. Fundamentally, the institutes are formed around some of the core sub-specialities that require niche skills and innovative treatment approaches.

The core philosophy of the unique institute-based tertiary care approach at SIMS is “To provide the Convenience of a Single Speciality Centre with the Advantages of a Multi-speciality Hospital ”. In most of the hospitals, all the doctors of a particular speciality operate and consult at individual capacity. But, at SIMS the institutes take up team approach and are headed by a renowned stalwart in their respective speciality. The Heads of the Institutes, designated as The Directors, spearhead all the clinical functions with administrative support from the hospital. Each doctor in the team specializes in a particular skill-set and complements the gamut of treatment services provided by the institute. The institutes also receive multi-disciplinary clinical support from other allied specialities available at SIMS.

The above organizational structure works to the benefits of the patients in two ways. First, the patient will be referred to as the right doctor internally without having to incur further consultation charges. Secondly, patients will have a piece of precise treatment advice due to the involvement of the whole team.

The Medical Institutes at SIMS are its Centres of Excellence (CoE) with progressive vision in their respective fields of speciality. As the cornerstones of our hospital, these CoEs have placed us among the top medical institutions in the country.
