Make an opening in the side or front of the hip through the tissue layers and move the muscles to expose the hip joint. The ball portion of the hip is removed.
Remove the damaged deformal head and replace it with a metal placed at the hollow centre of the femur. This femur is either fitted or cemented into the bone with an artificial prosthesis that allows the bone to attach to the replaced joint.
In standard surgeries there will be a cut for 8 to 10-inch-deep in the sides of the hip and in the minimally invasive techniques the cut will be 2 to 5 inches.
